The world’s top resorts and resort brands line the beaches of the Riviera Maya. I know I toured many. And I plan to stay at a few on my next trips to the region especially as Stay Luxurious takes off next year. But even so, I am sure I will always recommend Hacienda Tres Rios for certain travelers.
Cenotes and Adventure at the Resort
On site, guests have the ability not just to relax poolside but also take part in adventurous activities. Carefully constructed on land once an eco-adventure park damaged by a hurricane, the outdoor activities are plentiful. Guests can stay busy bike riding, kayaking, swimming the cenotes, and entering the spiritual journey of a Temazcal or the sense adventure. All activities are included.
A Seamless, Sustainable Resort
When you enter the resort, it doesn’t seem different. If guests didn’t know, they might not never learn about all the green efforts and awards won by the hotel.
The prestigious Green Globe certification makes this place one of the top sustainable resorts in not just the Riviera Maya, but all of Latin America. Hacienda Tres Rios provides seamless and sustainable green. And if it is important for you to put your “green” (US dollars) towards another green (the environment) and still be in a luxury resort, then this is the place for you.
Chef Oscar’s Menu
Chef Oscar is clearly one of those personality chef types. He is friendly, fun, and full of life. Plus the food on the resort is well above average.
And as much as I enjoyed his cooking, when he prepared cocktails and the Tequila tasting that won me over. Plus his Sangrita recipe one of the best I’ve had.
Beach Time
Although the beach beds are cozy and comfortable, the famous clear blue waters of the Riviera Maya can not be found on the beach at the property. With the tres rios (three rivers), from the cenotes the water is not the picture postcard perfect many expect from the Riviera Maya. But if you prefer the pool, you will be satisfied with the multiple pool layout.
Resort Recommendation summary
This is a great way to begin or even spend one week in the Riviera Maya vacation. If you desire the idyllic beach setting, consider spending a few days here and then traveling elsewhere in the Riviera Maya. On my last trip, I visited three locations in the Riviera Maya.
Also, the resort is very family friendly and a great place to bring kids to learn about the environment.
stay adventurous, Craig
