Sunset Sunday – A Mile High Sunset

Window or aisle seat? Before the days of self check-in and kiosks, the agent might ask you, “Sir, would you like a window or aisle seat?” My answer than was the same as it is today –  the window. I always ask for the window. Always.

Why? I need to see the horizon. I love to gaze out at the sky and the see the clouds, the stars, and dream of distant lands. I love to catch the New York City skyline on take off and landings, smile when I see the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico, and will never forget the curvature of the earth from the Concorde.  And then there is the countless Sunsets. Mile High Sunsets.

And this week I decided to share from my recent travels south of the border. Enjoy.

Happy Traveling and Sunset Sunday,

I agree with you, for many years I loved looking at the horizon, sunrise and crazy cloud formations. But on long flights lasting more than about 5-6 hours I prefer aisle seats to get up and walk around and stretch the legs.

There is nothing like a sunset from an airplane. I used to always ask for window but now I let my kids sit there while I take the isle seat because their curious little minds love looking out the window.

@redhunt, totally understand, yet I still prefer the window, not to be disturbed on those longer flights…

@Shana, a very good reason, seeing the wonder on the faces of your kids I suspect is even better than the view itself…

Yes, an incredible flight. Perhaps we can discuss it on one of our surf days this summer.
