We docked in Oranjestad at 1pm. The itinerary allowed for ten hours ashore with a planned 11pm departure. Aruba marked the only day on the ten day adventure at sea with the Holland America ms Zuiderdam I’d be on land to watch a sunset. Friends told me the island of Aruba offered plenty of wonderful options on where to watch it. They were correct.
After the midday snorkel excursion to De Palm Island, I returned to the dock with my fellow passengers. But I didn’t board the ship. No. I accepted the bus driver’s offer to take me to the beaches in an effort to find the perfect vantage point. He offered his opinion on where to go, Eagle Beach, and even on what to drink – the Aruba Ariba. I followed his advice.
After my cocktail, I walked down along the soft sand to the ocean’s edge. I watched a young kid play in the waves and snapped my first image. Then listening to the waves, I kicked off my flip-flops to sink my toes deeper into the sand. With the sun nearly set I snapped a second image. Happy Sunset Sunday.
I know I don’t normally offer two images of the same sunset, but this week I just couldn’t decide. Well, I leave it to you, which image do you prefer? Let me know below
Sunset Mindset for 2015 Calendar
Sometimes you need to kick off those flip-flops, put your toes in the sand and just enjoy a sunset on the beach, to relax to a classic beach sunset. And that is why this sunset made the 2015 Sunset Sunday Calendar.
stay adventurous, Craig
I’d like to thanks Cruise Radio and Holland America for passage aboard the ms Zuiderdam.
