I decided to leave the Super Boats National Championships after party at Shepard’s Beach Resort and walk back along the beach with the goal to enjoy another Florida sunset. It was my third and final night in Clearwater, Florida and after an amazing weekend, my first ever in a west coast Florida town on the Gulf of Mexico, I can firmly say I’ll be back.
Clearwater, Florida, winner of Florida’s Best Beach (USA Today poll) now also up for best sunset in a poll conducted by USA Today Travel offers soft white sugar sand and a chance to see a sunset on the usually tranquil Gulf of Mexico. As I walked along the water, I watched another beautiful sunset, and I was not alone, others enjoyed (and photographed) the moment too.
Then, after the sun dipped below the horizon, I walked back closer to the relatively new and beautiful beach walk and decided to sit down in the sand for a bit. The comfy, soft “sugar” sand proved a perfect seat to watch the sky through the sand dunes.
Happy Sunset Sunday.
Stay adventurous, Craig
