When I first created my blog, I decided to start a series, a sunset series. I never imagined how it would grow over the years. Today, with this sunset post, the series reaches a major milestone; 200 sunsets. This is my 200th Sunset Sunday post.
200 Sunsets
The sunset series has covered tremendous ground since its humble beginnings and it’s first sunset, the sunset from Kata Beach, Thailand. Now it contains sunsets from all seven continents and majestic moments from close to forty countries (thanks to tremendous sunset guest posts). It also now offers; a tri-annual video recap (see Sept-Dec 2013 Sunset Recap), an annual Sunset Calendar and an interactive Sunset map. Additionally it has grown to reach an even larger audience through the popular hashtag #SunsetSunday on Twitter, Instagram and more.
Stay Reflective
To stay reflective, I decided to find a sunset to mark the moment perfectly. I found this one, a sunset reflection itself. The moment is a sunset from Pierre’s in Islamorada, Florida. Pierre’s is one of my favorite places in the Florida Keys and a perfect place to celebrate Sunset 200 in the Sunset Sunday series.
The Next 200 sunsets
So, where do we go from here? 200 more sunsets? Do I hear a chant of “four more years?” Well maybe, but starting next week you can expect more of the same – beautiful sunset images and stories shared each Sunday. Plus, you can also expect plenty of new sunset destinations too as the focus will be continue to be to complete the Sunset Map.
So, thank you all for your support and for helping share the special sunset moments from your life and the lives of others across the globe. Stay Appreciating the Sunset, Craig
