The wine has arrived and I can hardly wait to sample it all. Mark your calendars for December 17th and 7pm and join me for a wine tasting filled with sips, stories and sanity.
Yes, this December 17th, we will be traveling again, and traveling through wine as we drink our way through Europe.
These handpicked 2020 Holiday Wine selections, will highlight 6 European Wines from 6 European countries all listed in my 2021 Stay Adventurous Travel Calendar. We will start with whites and work our way across the spectrum with a rose, more reds, and end with a dessert wine. Delicious.
You have time to purchase them and have them delivered via wired for wine (it takes 2-5 days normally) directly to your doorstep. ORDER and join me.
Other ideas include taking this list to your local wine store (see a pdf copy for 2020 Holiday Wine List here) and find these or similar bottles. But even if you can’t find these, please still join me and share one of your favorite European wines with all of us. This will be an interactive virtual zoom and I plan to leave a little time at the end for others to share a European favorite of their own if they want. Let’s us all learn.
So, make an evening out of it. Let’s open up some European wines. Let’s invite friends or family to share the holiday spirit(s), the fun, and maybe even the cost of the wines too…. Whatever it takes to travel Europe this Holiday season and in 2021 too.
The Holiday Wines
First off, the let’s look at the six selected wines with their retail price on wired for wine (first time orders usually receive a 10% discount)
- Portugal – Aveleda Alvarinho 2019 $14.97
- Greece – Sigalas Santorini Assyrtiko 2019 $37.97
- France – Chateau la Coste Provence Rose 2019 $31.97

- Spain – Muga Seleccion Especial Rioja 2014 $41.97
- Hungary – Royal Tokaji 6 Puttonyos Aszu Gold Label 2013 $69.97
The wines selected based on my prior travel experiences, recent wine tastings, their price points, and also the accolades received by each every wine from “best buy” to another with 98pts will delight. These are all quality wines.
Virtual Wine Tasting
The event will be virtual, via zoom, with tickets available via Eventbrite. Free tickets. Sign up here.
The event will also be recorded so others can watch it later via my YouTube channel – StayAdventurous. If you can’t attend live, this may become the perfect event to put in your calendar over Christmas week during a family or festive gathering that could use a fun, travel experience. I’m happy to help.
At the event, you can expect to learn what the experts think (Decanter, James Suckling, Wine Enthusiast), along with my personal thoughts on each wine. (I certainly have opinions ;-). Also, I’ll share a story, some Culture thru Cuisine from each of the six countries from my travels. Finally I’ll share the image of the country selected from my calendar that represents the country in Europe by Foot.
Who is ready to join me? Happy to hear it. I’ll see you all there in my (ugly) Christmas sweater ready to be your host and guide traveling (drinking) through Europe.
Stay traveling through wine, Craig
