After tasting the wines of Paso Robles and then enjoying time walking the charming streets of Cambria which included and delicious dinner at Robin’s we headed to the California Central Coast and Morro Bay. The goal was to reach the bay and its impressive rock for another classic California sunset view.
We succeeded in passing pristine landscape en route to Morro Bay and arrived just minutes before the sun set on the Pacific Ocean. California at its best.
The once sleepy fishing village off highway 1, and part of the journey on the road trip from San Fran to LA (or LA to SF) provides plenty of seafood restaurants on the water’s edge, holds WWII history (testing amphibian landing craft), offers a plethora of outdoor activities for the adventure seeker and even has an unmistakable power plant edifice no longer is use today. Yet the beach town is most famous for its gigantic rock – Morro Rock – that simple extends out into the Pacific Ocean.
Once arriving to the “rock,” we exited the car and headed to the viewing area for the sunset. I even decided to head further and head down to touch the cool sand and cooler water to truly appreciate thus Californian golden hour with more of my senses. And I did just that, appreciating the “coolness” of the moment of a California sunset at Morro Bay on the Pacific Ocean.
It was truly California dreaming ….
Happy Sunset Sunday
Stay adventurous, Craig
