Oaxaca is a magical destination in Mexico. Known for its Day of the Dead, its surfing, and UNESCO heritage sites. It offers incredible cuisine and is home to (mucho) mezcal. I’ve traveled there 5 times already and still want to return. Yes, there is a lot to love about Oaxaca already, but when heading there, put the Sierra Norte on your list too.
Under two hours from downtown Oaxaca visitors can find themselves deep into a network of towns known as the Pueblos Mancomunados. These pueblos all work together to provide a travel experience within their communities. Working together they offer adventure travel activities and the opportunity to learn a way of life too. Hike (or mountain bike) between these towns and spend nights inside clean, quality cabins to enjoy more of the magic of Oaxaca.
Curious, well listen in to learn more.
