In this guest post, the author reminds us why being open, saying yes, and stopping to take a photo of a sunset is a great idea, especially in Uzbekistan. Yes, she was staying adventurous or in her words; “let the course of the events lead you in life.”

“Please come to my home” said Oman, a young boy we met in a junction trying to figure out the directions in the country side of Uzbekistan. We did not know at that time that it would include celebrating his mother´s birthday, a Ramadan dinner, to meet everyone in his extended family and share our stories – and sleeping over at their terrace under the nests of the swallows. We received a taste of the hospitality of Uzbekistan, and a glimpse of their life.
What if we did not stop at a junction of the country roads close to Piskent in Uzbekistan to photograph that cutie in the sunset? We would have missed it all!
