We met to discuss my trip to Singapore after winning tickets on Singapore Air. We talked Asia, travel, and eventually sunsets. I wondered what to expect for sunsets in Singapore, but Marie also discussed sunsets from her home in Cape Verde. I asked her to contribute a sunset image to the Sunset Sunday; she provided this image and story.

Whenever I vacation in my childhood hometown of Mindelo, St. Vincent Island, Cape Verde, on the West Coast of Africa, one of my favorite pastimes is to view the sun burst in the sky and then set in the Atlantic Ocean horizon.
There is something magical and unique about the African sun. Its distinctive nature and spirit is welcoming, comforting, uplifting, allowing me feel at home every time I visit.
In my opinion, there is nothing more beautiful and divine than to experience a spectacular tropical African island sunset.
