The benefit of the balcony room on a cruise ship is the view of the ocean. The opportunity experience the seas and watch the world pass by at any point of the day, especially at sunset. To experience the sunset at sea from the comforts of your cabin is a highlight from every cruise I’ve taken and my recent Norwegian Getaway experience, it was no different.
Of course, the view of the sunset, in the west does depend on your room – are you starboard or port side? Which direction are you sailing? Well, regardless of your cabin, with most cruise itineraries a circle both departing and returning to the same port, there is almost a guarantee one evening your balcony will have the sunset view.
Norwegian Getaway Sunset at Sea off Costa Maya
During my recent sail on Norwegian Getaway through the western Caribbean, a voyage where no sunset moment would top my parents 50th anniversary sunset, I still was excited to retreat back to my cabin with a few cervezas, Dos Equis, (to make it interesting) from the bar when boarding the ship after my excursion to Chacchoben. I was prepared to watch the splendor of another sunset at sea. Fortunately, I’d even have another one the following night when leaving Cozumel.
Always great to enjoy the magic of the Mexican Caribbean. Happy Sunset Sunday.
Stay adventurous, Craig
