Top 7 Things Not to Forget to Pack on Your Next Trip

Packing is one of the most stressful parts of going on a trip. It doesn’t matter if you’re going on a vacation or traveling for work, it’s equally as stressful. If you are like tons of other Americans, you wait until the last minute to begin packing for your trip.

When this happens, you almost always over pack with things you don’t need, or you forget some essential items. When you get to your destination, you then have to scramble to pick up some of the basic necessities that you forgot to pack. Right then and there, you take a vow to start packing earlier next time. But you don;t often listen.

So this season, if you are looking for a fun place to visit in the south, check out the sweetness of  Savannah, the surprises found in Huntsville or even Knoxville real estate, because one of these places might just be your next home after another cold winter. Well whatever trip you are preparing for here are seven basic things you don’t want to leave behind.

Cell Phone Charger

At the top of the list is the charger for your cell phone. This is one of the most often forgotten things to pack. If you forget your charger, this will be one of the more expensive items to replace on this list. It makes sense to place items in a specific travel pouch if possible.

Under Garments

Don’t laugh, but many people arrive at their destination after a long flight only to find out they forgot to pack their undergarments. You do not want to be caught on vacation without them and spend time purchasing new ones.

Toiletries (and Makeup)

Make sure to include all your makeup, lotions, brushes, and things like that. There are tons of great organizers that you can buy to make travel easy. Make sure you check the TSA guidelines if you are planning on using a carry-on only. And do not forget your toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss.

Bathing Suit

If you are heading somewhere warm or a hotel with an indoor pool, you will need to pack a swimsuit. Even if you’re not sure if your hotel has one, pack one just in case so you are not left wishing you could take a dip in the pool or perhaps the hot tub for a soak.

The Right Shoes

Shoes are the unsung hero of travel. You want to make sure you bring comfortable shoes that will not hurt your feet. This is especially true if you are going on site-seeing tours that require a lot of walking. The last thing you need is to suffer with blisters on your feet or perhaps not have closed toe shoes in inclement weather.

Pajamas (Clothes to Sleep in)

Pajamas are another often overlooked item. How many times have you opened your suitcase and realized you left your pajamas in your drawer. If you are worried about remembering all the clothes you need, the best way is to make a checklist, so you don’t overlook any critical item.

Jacket or Clothing Designed to Stay Warm

sometimes it may feel this cold in a conference room or out at night

You should always bring a jacket or shawl to wear for when the temperature dips at night. If you are heading to a work conference or meeting, the rooms are usually freezing. You will congratulate your foresight if you find yourself sitting in one of these icy rooms when you have your jacket on.
