Cabo San Lucas is a world-renowned whale-watching destination. Thousands of gray, humpback and other whales migrate from their Arctic feeding areas to the warm seas off the Baja Peninsula every year between mid-December and early April to mate and also give birth. Humpback whales are one of the most well-known whale species for breaching and also sing whales songs you can listen too.  They’re the most active and entertaining to observe. These whales can grow to be more than 50 feet long and weigh up to 80,000 pounds.

Often, they can often be seen spouting and jumping just off the beach. If you visit Cabo San Lucas between December 15 and April 15, you’ll almost certainly encounter some of these gentle giants. The Calm, Clear Waters of Los Cabos’ Medano Beach

Cabo San Lucas is an excellent spot for activities both on and off the water, thanks to the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. The world’s largest fishing tournaments are held here. These two coastlines are known for their beautiful beaches, many of them being swimmable. Some of these beaches are noted for their beauty, while others are known for safe swimming, surf breaks, or snorkeling. They all get plenty of sun, as the region gets roughly 350 sunny days per year on average.

However, not all beaches are swimmable in Cabo. While some beaches in this region are great for a splash, others are riddled with genuine dangers that might be life-threatening such as rip currents, steep drops and waves, marine animals, etc. If you plan to swim on a beach, choose from the calm beaches that Cabo offers, such as Medano Beach, Lover’s Beach, Santa Maria Beach, Cabo Pulmo, and Cannery Beaches among others.
