A slight breeze kept the mosquitoes away while the temperature dropped just a few degrees from its midday high. The idyllic climate matched the setting as I settled in for the sunset at Pierre’s in Islamorada.
The bartender arrived with our cocktails and placed my manhattan on the table. As I reached for my first sip, the bartender reached for his phone and snapped an image. He watches the sunset daily, yet he thought this one was special. And he was right.

Ever since March 4th I imagined the moment, the chance to watch a sunset with my son. I knew I’d love the moment, and it turns out I loved the sunset too. I look forward to many more memories and many more sunsets as magical as this one.
